RAZIAH MD TAHIR, Ph.D, a senior lecturer at Islamic Business School, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah of Malaysia. She has been appointed as Associate Fellow at Institut Penyelidikan dan Inovasi Zakat (IPIZ). Her areas of specialization include the studies in Islamic Economics, Muamalat, Takaful, Zakat and Waqf . She has received Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and IPIZ Grant for the research related to micro credit from Islamic perspective, al-gharimin and zakat. She received her Bachelor of Economics degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in 1998 and Master of Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2000. She has been appointed as a lecturer at UUM in 2000. She received her Ph.D degree (Islamic Economics) in 2014 from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She has been teaching several courses including Principle of Economics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Takaful Management, Zakat Management and Islamic Economic Management.
