OVERVIEW
I am an Associate Professor, and the current Head of the Department of International Affairs, School of International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia. I am a keen observer of international affairs focusing on international and human security related issues. With my understanding, interest and training in the issues, I am deeply inspired to influence people and agencies to make the world a better place. My research interest includes national and international security issues such as terrorism, human security and regional cooperative framework (i.e. ASEAN and ARF). My doctoral research project focused on threats to human security, particularly the challenges of food security in Malaysia. Currently I involve (as a member) in two research projects, namely New Lens in International Relations Theory: The Rise of Persian Power and Malaysia National Security (with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia-UKM researchers); and Copyright Challenges in a MOOC Environment: A Framework in Managing Rights in Online Course Towards Digital Malaysia (Universiti Utara Malaysia-UUM researchers).
