I joined the Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2001 as a tutor before I was appointed as a lecturer in the School of Finance and Banking in 2003. I obtained my MSc Risk Management in 2003 and my PhD (Disaster Management ) in 2019. Now, I'm the Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics, Finance and Banking and also Research Fellow of the UUM Institute of Risk Management.
My research interests are in risk management, risk financing, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and business continuity management (BCM). To date, I have involved in various research grants from international bodies, industries, public and university funds. I have also actively involved in various professional bodies and associations such as the Malaysian Association of Risk and Insurance Management (MARIM), Academy Risk Management Malaysia (ARiMM) and MAICSA.
