OVERVIEW
Since joining UUM in 2004, Dr Suhaila has developed an interest in road safety research and is taking a leading role in this research area at UUM. In 2006, she initiated research into road safety through a University Grant to research the awareness of traffic safety rules. She also supervised undergraduate students on research investigating drivers’ awareness, perceptions of motorcyclists and young drivers’ behaviour. To consolidate her role in leading road safety research at UUM, she pursuing her PhD research project in road safety to which increase her knowledge in the area and improved her research skills. She has published journal articles, conference papers and poster presentations. She also has had six presentations related to road safety in both national and international conferences. Currently, Dr Suhaila lead a FRGS grant research project focusing on motorcyclist behaviour in school zones and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students on research related to road safety & transport management.
