Rabiul Islam is currently an Associate Professor at the School of International Studies (SoIS) under College of Law, Government and International Studies (COLGIS). Prior to joining in SoIS, he was a senior lecturer in the School of Economics, Finance and Banking at University Utara Malaysia. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Institute for Environment and Development, UKM, as well as his research area was the role of Water, Poverty and Food Security in Malaysia. In addition, he obtained his PhD in Environmental Economics under the Institute for Environment and Development, UKM, and his PhD was on International Trade. He is currently more focusing on international trade, environmental economics, and political economy. Besides that, his articles have been published in a wide range of various journals. He is more interested in doing research and publications in international trade, political economy, environmental economics, economic development, food security, sustainable development, development of agriculture, climate change and so on.
