Dr Shazwanis Shukri is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Affairs, School of International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She obtained her PhD in Politics and International Relations from Cardiff University, United Kingdom; MSc in Strategic Analysis & Security and Bachelor of Social Sciences in International Relations, both from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is at present, an Associate Fellow of Asian Institute of International Affairs and Diplomacy (AIIAD), UUM and also a Managing Editor for Journal of International Studies (JIS). Her main research interests and publications focus on security studies, maritime studies, law of the sea and European studies with specialisation on the EU and NATO. She has published a book review in International Affairs journal (2016) entitled 'The Maritime Dimension of European Security: Seapower and the European Union'. Dr Shazwanis has presented many papers at the international conferences organized by Political Science Association (PSA), European International Studies Association (EISA) and British International Studies Association (BISA) including in Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium and United Kingdom.
