OVERVIEW
Idya has both industry (8+ years) and academic (12 years) experiences. She started her first career at Technology Park Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and later joined the university to further her postgraduate study at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom. She has a high passion for the quality of Digitization and User Interfaces and decided to go back to the industry to experience the Digital Transformation Development and co-participated with the community of practices in project developments. Her PhD title is "Understanding User Experience Design Among Community of Practices: Malaysian Experiences", applying Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Grounded Theory (GT). She was seconded to MIMOS Berhad as a UX Researcher and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lead with the role of UX R&D in project developments. She joined Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDEC) to work in the Digital Government Transformation, Enabling Ecosystem, Talent Development Ecosystem and Growth Ecosystem Development divisions. She is the co-founder of Kuala Lumpur ACM SIGCHI Local Chapter and Local Lead for Kuala Lumpur Interaction Design Foundation (IDF) based in Denmark. She is an active member of UX Malaysia and advisor for several SMEs and Startup companies (e.g. Design2ustudio and Foxymojo). She provides UX Upskill and Reskill trainings, UI Sketching, Visual Facilitations, UX Management, UX Development, UX Mobile Applications, Design Sprint and Design Thinking consultation to Individuals, Companies and Government agencies. She curates Sandbox Programs, Accelerator Programs, Bootcamp for Startup Entrepreneurs focusing on UX Guerilla Techniques and Sprint Visualizations.
