I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Agribusiness in the School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB) at Universiti Utara Malaysia. I currently teach Agricultural Sciences subjects including Chemistry, Food Science and Soil Science for Agribusiness Management undergraduate students. My roles at SEFB include become a member in Student Development and Alumni; Examination and Graduation; and Sustainable Agribusiness Programme committees. I am also act as an advisor for MyAgrosis student club, a club for public university undergraduates who are interested to be agro-based entrepreneurs.
I graduated in May 2012 with my first degree, Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology with minor in Agribusiness Management at the Pennsylvania State University, United States of America. I graduated with Master of Biotechnology in December 2012 at the same university. I was awarded with a PhD in Medical Biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia in November 2017, specialising in natural product therapeutics in osteoarthritis. I continued my postdoctoral research as Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lancaster Medical School, Lancaster University, and also taught undergraduate medical students in basic sciences in Special Study Modules (SSM). In July 2019, I received recognition as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), United Kingdom. I joined Universiti Utara Malaysia as a Senior Lecturer in August 2020. Currently, I am pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education of Learning and Teaching at Universiti Utara Malaysia for my teaching development.
My research interests vary from medicinal plants, osteoarthritis mechanisms and therapies, biomedical technology to Raman spectroscopy applications, as well as innovation in teaching sciences.
