Nur Adiana holds a Ph.D in Corporate Finance, Aston University, UK, MBA (Finance and Economics), University of Idaho, USA and Bachelor of Science in Finance (minor Economics), Northern Illinois University, USA. She possesses more than 20 years working experience in the field of finance.
She has served the Sabah Inquiry Commission as an Internal Auditor, Credit Corporation Malaysia as a Credit Officer and Internal Auditor, and Global Dolls Corporation as a Manager before pursuing her career in the academic line. At present, she is a Professor of Corporate Finance at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking, College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She had held several administrative position as the Director of the Institute of Quality Management, Deputy Dean (Research and Development), Head of Department (Finance), Programme Chairperson (Bachelor of Finance), and Research Chairperson (Faculty of Finance and Banking).
She had provided several trainings and consultations to the Pekan Rabu Entrepreneurs, managers and executives of Johor Corporation and its subsidiaries. Nur Adiana is also consulted for her expertise by the Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Securities Commission. She is an executive member of the Malaysian Finance Association (up till June 2012), and an editorial board member of the Capital Markets Review, Malaysian Management Journal, The International Research Journal of Applied Finance, and Contemporary Economics. Her scholarly contribution could also be observed in her reviewing manuscripts for the national and international refereed journals and conferences.
She has written a few cases and undertaken a number of research in the corporate finance and investment areas such as rights issues, capital budgeting, initial public offerings, dividends, unit trusts and financial distress. Her written works appeared in refereed journals such as the Studies of Economics and Finance, Contemporary Economics, IIUM Journal of Economics and Management, Capital Markets Review, International Journal of Finance, Asian Academy of Management Journal, Asian Academy of Management Journal of Accounting and Finance, International Journal of Management Studies, International Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Finance Case Research, Jurnal Pengurusan, Malaysian Management Journal and Bankers Journal.
