OVERVIEW
AZILAH KASIM is a full Professor of Tourism at Universiti Utara Malaysia, Malaysia. She earned her undergraduate degree from Brock University, Ontario, Canada; Master of Science from Michigan State University, USA and PhD in Tourism from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. She is a board member of the International Journal of Culture in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure (2013-2014) and a board member of Asia Pacific Tourism Association (2014-present). She serves as an Advisory Board member of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Innovation in Hospitality and Tourism (APJIHT) and is an active ad hoc reviewer for many international journals including Journal of Sustainable Tourism and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Azilah researches quite extensively, and publishes in many high index international journals. She is a widely cited author in her field (H index = 16, Scopus H Index = 11). Her expertise is on sustainability issues, Corporate Social Responsibility and marketing. She also writes books on tourism, recreation and qualitative research topics. Azilah has an extensive experience as a Continuous Professional Development trainer and is currently active as an expert panelist for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
